Also see Warning section.

Constipation, loss of appetite, bitter taste in mouth, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, trouble sleeping, headache, flushing of the face, or decreased sexual interest may occur as your body adjusts to the medication.  If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly.

Remember that your doctor has prescribed Amiodarone 200mg because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects.  Many people using Amiodarone 200mg do not have serious side effects.

Amiodarone 200mg, when used in combination with certain cholesterol-lowering "statins" (atorvastatin, lovastatin, simvastatin), may infrequently cause muscle damage (which can rarely lead to a very serious condition called rhabdomyolysis).  Tell your doctor immediately if you develop: muscle pain/tenderness/weakness (especially with fever or unusual tiredness).

Seek immediate medical attention if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: severe dizziness, fainting, sudden change in heartbeat (unusually faster/slower/more irregular).

Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: coldness, sweating, unexplained weight change, lump/growth in the front of the neck (goiter), nervousness, uncontrolled shaking/tremor, sluggishness, loss of coordination, mental/mood changes, tingling or numbness of the hands or feet, swelling of the hands or feet, return/worsening of irregular heartbeat, vision changes (e.g., seeing halos, blurred vision, loss of vision), easy bruising/bleeding, persistent sore throat, change in the amount of urine.

Amiodarone 200mg may cause skin reactions similar to a serious sunburn.  Infrequently with long-term Amiodarone 200mg treatment, you may develop blue-gray discoloring of the skin, particularly of the face and hands.  This effect is not harmful and usually reverses, sometimes incompletely, after the drug is stopped.  Avoiding prolonged sun exposure may help to prevent this effect.  See also Precautions.

In the unlikely event you have a serious allergic reaction to Amiodarone 200mg, seek immediate medical attention.  Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

This is not a complete list of possible side effects.  If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

See also Warning and How to Use sections.

Your doctor or pharmacist may already be aware of any possible drug interactions and may be monitoring you for them.  Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.

Amiodarone 200mg should not be used with the following medications because very serious interactions may occur: agalsidase, dofetilide, certain HIV protease inhibitors (indinavir, nelfinavir, ritonavir, saquinavir), quinupristin/dalfopristin.

If you are currently using any of these medications, tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting Amiodarone 200mg.

Other drugs besides Amiodarone 200mg that may affect the heart rhythm (QT prolongation in the EKG) include other antiarrhythmics (e.g., flecainide, procainamide, quinidine, sotalol), macrolide antibiotics (e.g., erythromycin), pimozide, and quinolone antibiotics (e.g., levofloxacin), among others.  Before using Amiodarone 200mg, report all medications you are currently using to your doctor or pharmacist.  QT prolongation can infrequently result in serious (rarely fatal) fast/irregular heartbeat and other symptoms (e.g., severe dizziness, fainting) that require immediate medical attention.  Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more details and for instructions on how you may reduce the risk of this effect.

Before using Amiodarone 200mg, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of: clopidogrel, certain "water pills" (potassium-wasting diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide, furosemide), drugs affecting liver enzymes that remove Amiodarone 200mg from your body (such as azole antifungals including itraconazole, cimetidine, fentanyl, lidocaine, rifampin, St.  John's wort, trazodone, certain anti-seizure medicines including phenytoin).

Amiodarone 200mg can slow down the removal of other drugs from your body by affecting certain liver enzymes.  These affected drugs include (this is not a complete list): beta blockers (e.g., propranolol), calcium channel blockers (e.g., diltiazem, verapamil), cyclosporine, certain cholesterol-lowering "statins" (atorvastatin, lovastatin, simvastatin), digoxin, tizanidine, warfarin, drugs to treat erectile dysfunction (e.g., sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil).

This document does not contain all possible interactions.  Therefore, before using this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all the products you use.  Keep a list of all your medications with you, and share the list with your doctor and pharmacist.

"Three years ago, my doctor started me on Combivent for chronic bronchitis and suggested I contact Universal Drugstore.  I ordered at that time and I am still receiving my medication from Universal Drugstore.  I can't say enough about the extra fine service I have had with UDS.  I have recommended UDS to several people."
