Before using Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: HIV infection, kidney disease.
Kidney function declines as you grow older. Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg is removed by the kidneys. Therefore, elderly people may be more sensitive to Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg, and to side effects such as lactic acidosis.
Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
It is not known whether Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg passes into breast milk. Breast-feeding is not recommended while using Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Store at room temperature at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Brief storage between 59-86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) is permitted.
Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg oral solution should be stored in the original carton.
Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
Properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company for more details about how to safely discard your product.

Read the Patient Information Leaflet provided by your pharmacist before you start using Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions regarding the information, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Take Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg by mouth on an empty stomach at least 2 hours after a meal and 2 hours before the next meal, usually once daily or as directed by your doctor.
If you are taking Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg oral liquid, carefully measure your dose with the spoon provided. Hold the spoon in an upright position with the volume marks facing you. Slowly fill the spoon to the mark for your prescribed dose. Swallow the medicine directly from the measuring spoon. Do not dilute or mix the medication with water or other liquids. Rinse the spoon with water after each use.
Take Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg regularly in order to get the most benefit from it. Remember to use Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg at the same time each day. Do not skip any doses. Dosage of Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg is based on your medical condition (e.g., kidney function), and response to therapy (including previous use of the drug lamivudine).
Take Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg exactly as prescribed. Do not change your dose or stop taking Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg without talking to your doctor. (See Warning section)
Inform your doctor of any new symptoms or if your condition worsens.

Headache, fatigue, dizziness, and nausea may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Remember that your doctor has prescribed Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg do not have serious side effects.
A very serious allergic reaction to Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction may include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

If you miss a dose of Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

Before using Baraclude (entecavir) 1mg, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of drugs which may damage the kidney, or drugs removed by the kidney, or drugs that may slow the removal of other drugs by the kidney such as: aminoglycosides (e.g., gentamicin, amikacin, tobramycin), amphotericin B, cyclosporine, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs such as ibuprofen), probenecid, tacrolimus.
