Before taking Labetalol 300mg 300mg, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to other beta blockers (e.g., propranolol); or if you have any other allergies.

Labetalol 300mg should not be used if you have certain medical conditions.  Before using this medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have: certain types of heart rhythm problems (e.g., sinus bradycardia, second- or third-degree atrioventricular block), certain serious heart conditions (cardiogenic shock, severe heart failure), severe breathing problems (unstable bronchial asthma).

Before using Labetalol 300mg, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: heart failure (treated, stable type), diabetes, overactive thyroid (e.g., hyperthyroidism), breathing problems (e.g., asthma, chronic obstructive lung disease), kidney or liver disease, blood circulation problems (e.g., Raynaud's disease, peripheral vascular disease), low blood flow to the brain (cerebral insufficiency), certain skin conditions (e.g., atopy), mental/mood disorders (e.g., depression), certain muscle problems (myasthenia gravis).

Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist that you are taking Labetalol 300mg.

Labetalol 300mg may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution while engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery.  Limit alcoholic beverages.

To reduce dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from a seated or lying position.

If you have diabetes, this product may mask the fast/pounding heartbeat you would usually feel when your blood sugar level falls too low (hypoglycemia).  Other symptoms of a low blood sugar level, such as dizziness/sweating, are unaffected by Labetalol 300mg.

Caution is advised when using Labetalol 300mg in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to its effects, especially dizziness and lightheadedness.

Labetalol 300mg should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy.  Rarely, babies born to mothers who took Labetalol 300mg 300mg during pregnancy may have symptoms of low blood pressure or low blood sugar such as shaking, unusual sweating, slow heartbeat, or slow/shallow breathing.  Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.  Tell your doctor immediately if you notice any of these symptoms in your newborn.

Labetalol 300mg passes into breast milk.  This product may cause undesirable effects in a nursing infant.  Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

This product is used with or without other medications to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).  Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.  Labetalol 300mg is both an alpha and beta blocker.  It works by blocking the effect of certain natural chemicals such as adrenaline (epinephrine) on the heart and blood vessels.  This slows your heartbeat, lowers blood pressure, and reduces strain on the heart.

Take Labetalol 300mg by mouth, usually twice daily or as directed by your doctor.  Take Labetalol 300mg consistently either with or without food.  The dosage is based on your age, medical condition and response to therapy.  If you have severe liver problems, your dosage may need to be adjusted.  Your doctor may start you at a low dose and gradually increase the dose.  Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Use Labetalol 300mg regularly in order to get the most benefit from it.  To help you remember, take it at the same time each day.  It is important to continue taking Labetalol 300mg even if you feel well.  Most people with high blood pressure do not feel sick.  It may take up to several weeks before the full benefit of Labetalol 300mg takes effect.

Do not stop taking Labetalol 300mg without first consulting your doctor.  Some conditions may become worse when the drug is abruptly stopped.  Your dose may need to be gradually decreased.

Inform your doctor if your condition worsens (e.g., your routine blood pressure readings increase).

"Three years ago, my doctor started me on Combivent for chronic bronchitis and suggested I contact Universal Drugstore.  I ordered at that time and I am still receiving my medication from Universal Drugstore.  I can't say enough about the extra fine service I have had with UDS.  I have recommended UDS to several people."
