Common Misspelling for Tramadol

Before taking Tramadol 50mg 50mg, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies.  This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.  Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

Before using Tramadol 50mg, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: brain disorders (such as head injury, tumor, seizures), breathing problems (such as asthma, sleep apnea, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease-COPD), kidney disease, liver disease, mental/mood disorders (such as confusion, depression, suicidal thoughts), personal or family history of regular use/abuse of drugs/alcohol, stomach/intestinal problems (such as blockage, constipation, diarrhea due to infection, paralytic ileus), difficulty urinating (such as due to enlarged prostate).

Tramadol 50mg may make you dizzy or drowsy.  Do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity that requires alertness until you are sure you can perform such activities safely.  Avoid alcoholic beverages.

The tablets made to dissolve in the mouth may contain aspartame.  If you have phenylketonuria (PKU) or any other condition that requires you to restrict your intake of aspartame (or phenylalanine), ask your doctor or pharmacist about using Tramadol 50mg safely.

Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products).

Older adults may be more sensitive to the effects of Tramadol 50mg, especially dizziness, drowsiness, or urinary problems.

During pregnancy, Tramadol 50mg should be used only when clearly needed.  Using it for long periods or in high doses near the expected delivery date is not recommended because of the potential for harm to the unborn baby.  Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.  Babies born to mothers who have used Tramadol 50mg for an extended time may have withdrawal symptoms such as irritability, abnormal/persistent crying, vomiting, or diarrhea.  If you notice any of these symptoms in your newborn, tell the doctor promptly.

Tramadol 50mg passes into breast milk and may rarely have undesirable effects on a nursing infant.  Tell the doctor immediately if your baby develops unusual sleepiness, difficulty feeding, or trouble breathing.  Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Store at room temperature between 59-86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from moisture.  Keep all medications away from children and pets.

Do not flush medications down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless instructed to do so.  Properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed.  Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company for more details about how to safely discard your product.

Tramadol 50mg is used to help relieve moderate to moderately severe pain.  Tramadol 50mg is similar to narcotic analgesics.  It works in the brain to change how your body feels and responds to pain.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  The preceding information is intended to heighten awareness of health information and does not suggest diagnosis or treatment.  This information is not a substitute for individual medical attention and should not be construed to indicate that use of the drug is safe, appropriate, or effective for you.  See your health care professional for medical advice and treatment.

Take Tramadol 50mg by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain relief.  You may take Tramadol 50mg with or without food.  If you have nausea, it may help to take Tramadol 50mg with food.  Ask your doctor or pharmacist about other ways to decrease nausea (such as lying down for 1 to 2 hours with as little head movement as possible).

If you are using the tablets made to dissolve in the mouth, dry your hands before handling the medication.  Just before using, open the blister pack unit as directed.  Do not push the tablet through the foil of the blister pack because this could damage the tablet.  Place your dose on your tongue, allow it to dissolve completely (about 1 minute), and then swallow it with saliva or water.  You do not need to take Tramadol 50mg with water.  Do not break, chew, or split the tablet.

The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.  To reduce your risk of side effects, your doctor may direct you to start Tramadol 50mg at a low dose and gradually increase your dose.  Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.  The maximum recommended dose is 400 milligrams per day.  If you are older than 75 years, the maximum recommended dose is 300 milligrams per day.  Do not increase your dose, take the medication more frequently, or take it for a longer time than prescribed.  Properly stop the medication when so directed.

Pain medications work best if they are used as the first signs of pain occur.  If you wait until the pain has worsened, the medication may not work as well.

If you have ongoing pain (such as due to arthritis), your doctor may direct you to also take long-acting narcotic medications.  Other non-narcotic pain relievers (such as acetaminophen, ibuprofen) may also be prescribed with Tramadol 50mg.  Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions about using Tramadol 50mg 50mg safely with other drugs.

Tramadol 50mg may cause withdrawal reactions, especially if it has been used regularly for a long time or in high doses.  In such cases, withdrawal symptoms (such as restlessness, watering eyes, runny nose, nausea, sweating, muscle aches) may occur if you suddenly stop using Tramadol 50mg.  To prevent withdrawal reactions, your doctor may reduce your dose gradually.  Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details, and report any withdrawal reactions immediately.

When Tramadol 50mg is used for a long time, it may not work as well.  Talk with your doctor if Tramadol 50mg stops working well.

Along with its benefits, Tramadol 50mg may rarely cause abnormal drug-seeking behavior (addiction).  This risk may be increased if you have abused alcohol or drugs in the past.  Take Tramadol 50mg exactly as prescribed to lessen the risk of addiction.

Tell your doctor if your pain persists or worsens.

Nausea, vomiting, constipation, lightheadedness, dizziness, drowsiness, or headache may occur.  Some of these side effects may decrease after you have been using Tramadol 50mg for a while.  If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

To prevent constipation, eat a diet adequate in fiber, drink plenty of water, and exercise.  Ask your pharmacist for help in selecting a laxative (such as a stimulant type with stool softener).

To reduce the risk of dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.

Remember that your doctor has prescribed Tramadol 50mg because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects.  Many people using Tramadol 50mg do not have serious side effects.

Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: mental/mood changes (such as agitation, confusion, hallucinations), severe stomach/abdominal pain, difficulty urinating.

Get medical help right away if any of these rare but serious side effects occur: fainting, seizure, slow/shallow breathing, unusual drowsiness/difficulty waking up.

Tramadol 50mg may rarely cause a very serious condition called serotonin syndrome.  The risk increases when Tramadol 50mg is used with certain other drugs (see Drug Interactions section).  Get medical help right away if you develop some of the following symptoms: hallucinations, unusual restlessness, loss of coordination, fast heartbeat, severe dizziness, unexplained fever, severe nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, twitching muscles.

A very serious allergic reaction to Tramadol 50mg is rare.  However, get medical help right away if you notice any of the following symptoms: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

This is not a complete list of possible side effects.  If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

The effects of some drugs can change if you take other drugs or herbal products at the same time.  This can increase your risk for serious side effects or may cause your medications not to work correctly.  These drug interactions are possible, but do not always occur.  Your doctor or pharmacist can often prevent or manage interactions by changing how you use your medications or by close monitoring.

To help your doctor and pharmacist give you the best care, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products) before starting treatment with this product.  While using this product, do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any other medicines you are using without your doctor's approval.

Some products that may interact with Tramadol 50mg include: certain drugs to treat nausea (such as ondansetron), certain pain medications (mixed narcotic agonist-antagonists such as pentazocine, nalbuphine, butorphanol), narcotic antagonists (such as naltrexone).

Avoid taking MAO inhibitors (isocarboxazid, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, rasagiline, selegiline, tranylcypromine) during treatment with Tramadol 50mg and for two weeks before and after treatment.  In some cases a serious (possibly fatal) drug interaction may occur.

Before using Tramadol 50mg 50mg, report the use of other drugs that increase serotonin, such as dextromethorphan, lithium, St.  John's wort, sibutramine, street drugs such as MDMA/"ecstasy," tryptophan, certain antidepressants including SSRIs (such as citalopram, paroxetine) and SNRIs (such as duloxetine, venlafaxine), "triptans" used to treat migraine headaches (such as eletriptan, sumatriptan), among others.  The risk of serotonin syndrome may be more likely when you start or increase the dose of these medications.

Other medications can affect the removal of Tramadol 50mg 50mg from your body, which may affect how Tramadol 50mg 50mg works.  Examples include quinidine, azole antifungals (such as itraconazole), HIV drugs (such as ritonavir), macrolide antibiotics (such as erythromycin), rifamycins (such as rifampin), drugs used to treat seizures (such as carbamazepine), among others.

The risk of serious side effects (such as slow/shallow breathing, severe drowsiness) may be increased if Tramadol 50mg is taken with other products that may also affect breathing or cause drowsiness.  Therefore, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other products such as alcohol, allergy or cough-and-cold products, medicine for sleep or anxiety (such as alprazolam, diazepam, zolpidem), muscle relaxants, other narcotic pain relievers (such as morphine), and psychiatric medicines (such as risperidone, amitriptyline, trazodone).  Your medications or doses of your medications may need to be changed.

This document does not contain all possible drug interactions.  Keep a list of all the products you use.  Share this list with your doctor and pharmacist to lessen your risk for serious medication problems.

"Three years ago, my doctor started me on Combivent for chronic bronchitis and suggested I contact Universal Drugstore.  I ordered at that time and I am still receiving my medication from Universal Drugstore.  I can't say enough about the extra fine service I have had with UDS.  I have recommended UDS to several people."
