Avoid eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice while using Xalkori 250mg unless your doctor or pharmacist says you may do so safely. Grapefruit can increase the chance of side effects with this medicine. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more details. Do not increase your dose or use Xalkori 250mg more often or for longer than prescribed. Your condition will not improve any faster, and your risk of side effects will increase. Use Xalkori 250mg regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, use it at the same times each day. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. Since Xalkori 250mg can be absorbed through the skin and lungs and may harm an unborn baby, women who are pregnant or who may become pregnant should not handle Xalkori 250mg or breathe the dust from the capsules.
Before taking Xalkori 250mg, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. Xalkori 250mg may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details. Before using Xalkori 250mg, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history,kidney problems, liver problems. Crizotinib may cause a condition that affects the heart rhythm (QT prolongation). Low levels of potassium or magnesium in the blood may also increase your risk of QT prolongation. Talk to your doctor about using crizotinib safely. Crizotinib can make you more likely to get infections or may worsen any current infections. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. You should not become pregnant while taking crizotinib. Crizotinib may harm an unborn baby. Your doctor should order a pregnancy test before you start Xalkori 250mg. Women taking Xalkori 250mg should use reliable forms of birth control during treatment and for at least 45 days after stopping treatment. Men taking Xalkori 250mg should use reliable forms of birth control during treatment and for at least 90 days after stopping treatment. If you or your partner become pregnant, talk to your doctor right away about the risks and benefits of Xalkori 250mg. It is unknown if Xalkori 250mg passes into breast milk. Because of possible harm to a nursing infant, breast-feeding is not recommended while using Xalkori 250mg and for 45 days after stopping Xalkori 250mg. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
If you miss a dose of Xalkori 250mg, take it as soon as you remember. If it is less than 6 hours before the next dose, skip the missed dose. Take your next dose at the regular time. Do not double the dose to catch up.
