Robaxacet Extra Stength

The active ingredients in Robaxacet Extra Strength are acetaminophen and methocarbamol. Acetaminophen is an analgesic, so it results in effective relief of pain. Methocarbamol is a muscle relaxant, so it works by relaxing the muscles, which eases tense muscles and muscle pain.

Follow all directions given to you by your doctor and read all documents provided, including the full Prescribing Information, FDA-Approved Product Labeling, Instructions for Use, and Medication Guide, before using Robaxacet Extra Strength. However, the following is a synopsis of the general guidelines for the use of Robaxacet Extra Strength:

• The recommended dose is 2 Robaxacet extra strength caplets every 6 hours. Do not take more than 8 caplets in 24 hours.
• This medication is meant for adults and children 12 years old and over.

The most common side effects of Robaxacet Extra Strength include:

• Drowsiness.
• Dizziness.
• Nausea.
• Metallic taste.
• Headache.
• Trouble sleeping.

Some individuals may experience serious side effects while using Robaxacet Extra Strength. These side effects may require immediate medical attention. If you experience any of the following, contact your healthcare provider or seek emergency medical help:

• If pain worsens or lasts for more than 5 days.
• Rash or itchy skin.
• Allergic reaction.
• Liver damage like dark urine, fatigue, lack of appetite, nausea, or yellow skin and eyes.

Before starting Robaxacet Extra Strength, it is crucial to discuss any existing health conditions with your healthcare provider. You should be sure that your healthcare provider is aware of all your medical conditions, including whether you:

• Have liver or kidney disease.
• Take warfarin (blood thinner).
• Take drugs for depression.
• Take sedatives.
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Have a seizure disorder, heartburn, asthma, or high blood pressure.

Boxed Warning

The acetaminophen in Robaxacet Extra Strength may cause severe or possibly fatal liver damage. Symptoms of liver damage include yellow skin or eyes, sweating, dark urine, and stomach pain. Your risk of liver damage increases if you take more than the recommended dose, drink 3 or more alcoholic drinks every day, and take other medications containing acetaminophen.

• If you have an allergy to acetaminophen.
• If you are taking other drugs that contain acetaminophen or methocarbamol.

You will start to feel pain relief from Robaxacet Extra Strength in one hour. The effects will last for approximately 6 hours.

When Robaxacet Extra Strength is taken with other prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and supplements, it may change how they work or increase the frequency or severity of side effects. Make sure that you tell your healthcare professional about anything that you are taking to avoid any negative drug interactions, including:

• Alcohol.
• Cannabis.
• Opioids.
• Benzodiazepines.
• Sleep medications.
• Warfarin.
• Isoniazid.
• Rifampin.
• Medications that contain acetaminophen.

There is only one dose of Robaxacet Extra Strength available. One caplet contains 500 mg of acetaminophen and 400 mg of methocarbamol. The recommended dose is 2 caplets every 6 hours.

The formulation of Robaxacet Extra Strength also contains corn starch, FD&C Blue No. 1, hypromellose, polyethylene glycol, and stearic acid. These are not all of the ingredients in the formulation. Please refer to the manufacturer for the full formulation.

Store Robaxacet Extra Strength at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

There are no generic versions of Robaxacet Extra Strength, however, there are generic versions of acetaminophen and methocarbamol sold separately.

There is a low risk of harm when stopping Robaxacet Extra Strength, but abruptly stopping it may cause your pain to worsen. It is always best to talk to your healthcare professional before stopping a medication.

Acetaminophen use during pregnancy is likely low risk when used appropriately and for a short duration. Methocarbamol use during pregnancy is also likely low risk when used appropriately. Based on available human data, acetaminophen is compatible with breastfeeding. Although there is no human data for methocarbamol, it is likely compatible with breastfeeding.
