The dosing of Senokot S is based on age:

-For children 6-11 years of age, the starting dose is 1 tablet at bedtime. They should not exceed 2 tablets in 24 hours.

-For people 12 years of age and older, the starting dose is typically 2 tablets once daily. The maximum dosage is 4 tablets twice daily.

Unless otherwise instructed by your doctor, you should not take Senokot S for longer than one week at a time.

What are the side effects of Senokot S?

Abdominal pain or discomfort, diarrhea, and discoloration of feces are common side effects of Senokot S.

-A condition that causes a lack of muscle tone in your colon

-Appendicitis

-Unexplained abdominal pain or severe abdominal pain. These could be signs of fecal impaction, intestinal blockage, or other more serious conditions that require medical attention.

-Rectal bleeding

-Persistent constipation that lasts more than 2 weeks
