How to Apply Vaniqa Cream

Vaniqa (eflornithine hydrochloride) is a prescription topical cream for women aged 12 and older to slow unwanted facial hair growth. It must be used alongside shaving, plucking, waxing, or other hair‑removal methods.

Frequency and Preparation

  • Use twice daily, at least 8 hours apart
  • External use only
  • Wash hands before application
  • Remove unwanted hair (shave, pluck, wax, etc.) ≥ 5 minutes before applying

Application Steps

  1. Apply a thin layer of Vaniqa to the affected facial areas (upper lip, chin, cheeks).
  2. Rub in gently until no cream is visible on the skin.
  3. Avoid washing treated areas for at least 4 hours.
  4. After the cream has dried (≈ 5 minutes), you may apply sunscreen, moisturizer, or makeup.
  5. Wash hands thoroughly after application.

If Irritation Occurs

Reduce application to once daily. If redness, burning, or soreness persists, contact your dermatologist or healthcare provider.

Storage

Store at room temperature, away from children.

Expected Results

Improvement may appear within 4–8 weeks; some see changes as early as 1 week. If no benefit after 4 months of consistent use, consult your provider for alternatives.
