Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs increase the risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events, including heart attack and stroke, which can be fatal.

Daypro is contraindicated for the treatment of pain in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG).

NSAIDs increase the risk of serious gastrointestinal bleeding, ulceration, and perforation, which can occur at any time and without warning.

Daypro should not be used in patients with a known adverse reaction to oxaprozin or other NSAIDs. It is contraindicated in patients who have experienced asthma, hives, or allergic reactions after taking aspirin or other salicylates. It should not be used before or after heart bypass surgery.

Pain relief may begin within several hours after the first dose, but full anti-inflammatory effects may take several days to a few weeks of regular use. Continue taking Daypro as prescribed, even if immediate relief is not felt.

When Daypro is taken with other prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and supplements, it may change how they work or increase the frequency or severity of side effects.
