Important information about Edronax
The active ingredient in Edronax is reboxetine. It is a noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor or norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI). It only has a weak effect on serotonin receptors and reuptake and will not affect the uptake of dopamine. This action allows for the noradrenaline molecules to stay in the synapse for longer, which aids in the treatment of major depression.
Follow all directions given to you by your doctor and read all documents provided, including the full Prescribing Information, FDA-approved product Labeling, Instructions for Use, and Medication Guide, before using Edronax. However, the following is a synopsis of the general guidelines for the use of Edronax:
- The oral tablet can be taken with or without food. It is typically twice daily.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and only take the next dose. Do not take double or extra doses.
The most common side effects of Edronax seen in clinical trials as compared to placebo include:
- Dry mouth
- Constipation
- Stimulation of the central nervous system (CNS)
- Dizziness
- Nausea and vomiting
- Stomach pain
- Erectile dysfunction
- Increased heart rate (tachycardia) and palpitations
- Loss of appetite
Some individuals may experience serious adverse reactions while using Edronax. These side effects may require immediate medical attention. If you experience any of the following, contact your healthcare provider or seek emergency medical help:

You can also report adverse effects to the Food and Drug Administration at www.fda.gov/medwatch or 1-800-FDA-1088.

Reboxetine, the active ingredient in Edronax, has a half-life of about 13 hours. While the full effects of reboxetine will take around 4-6 weeks, some symptom improvement may be seen after 2 weeks of treatment.
When Edronax is taken with other prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and supplements, it may change how they work or increase the frequency or severity of side effects.
