Vesicare

The active ingredient in Vesicare is solifenacin succinate. Vesicare is an antimuscarinic or anticholinergic medication.

Vesicare prevents acetylcholine, a substance found in the body, from binding to the bladder's muscarinic receptors. Your bladder muscles relax as a result. You can better manage your urination and use the bathroom less frequently.

Follow all directions given to you by your doctor and read all documents provided, including the full Prescribing Information, FDA-Approved Product Labeling, Instructions for Use, and Medication Guide before using Vesicare. However, the following is a synopsis of the general guidelines for the use of Vesicare:

• Typically, Vesicare is taken once a day, either with or without food.
• The tablet should not be broken, chewed, or crushed. Swallow it whole with water.
• Before measuring a dose, shake the oral suspension. Use a medication dose-measuring tool (not a kitchen spoon) or the supplied dosing syringe.
• Glasses of milk or water should be had after taking Vesicare LS liquid. To avoid a bitter aftertaste, avoid consuming the liquid with food or other beverages.

The most common side effects of Vesicare seen in clinical trials include:

• Dry mouth.
• Constipation.

-Blurred vision.

• Dry eyes.
• Nausea.
• Upset stomach.
• Indigestion.
• Drowsiness or tiredness.
• Dizziness.
• Urinary tract infection (UTI).
• Dry skin.

Some individuals may experience serious side effects while using Vesicare. These side effects may require immediate medical attention. If you experience any of the following, contact your healthcare provider or seek emergency medical help:

• Severe swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat; difficulty breathing, hives, skin rash, is known as angioedema or any allergic reactions.
• Chest pounding, rapid or irregular heartbeat, chest pain, dyspnoea, or feeling faint or dizzy are all signs of an abnormal heart rhythm (QT prolongation).
• Heat exhaustion or heat stroke as Vesicare can affect your ability to regulate your body temperature.

Before starting Vesicare, it is crucial to discuss any existing health conditions with your healthcare provider. You should be sure that your healthcare provider is aware of all your medical conditions, including if you have:

• Vesicare should not be used if you have untreated or uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma, are allergic to solifenacin, or both, delayed emptying due to an intestinal condition, or in the event you can't urinate.

Tell your doctor if you have ever experienced any of the following to ensure Vesicare is safe for you:

• Glaucoma.
• Liver disease.
• Kidney disease.
• Difficulties voiding your bladder.
• Slow digestion.
• An obstruction in your intestines or stomach.
• Prolonged QT interval.

Certain medical disorders or circumstances are known as contraindications, and they raise safety concerns about a medication's use. Vesicare will not be safe for you to consume if you have any of the following conditions or if any of the following apply to you. Share this information with your healthcare professional.

• Uncontrolled glaucoma at a narrow angle.
• Prostate issues can cause urinary retention, which is the inability to empty or urinate (gastric retention).
• Blockage of the stomach or intestines.

According to studies, Vesicare can begin to reduce overactive bladder symptoms within a month of starting treatment. Remember that the best effects of the drug may not be seen for several months. If you're worried about how well Vesicare is working for you and how long it's taking to help with your symptoms, talk to your prescriber.

When Vesicare is taken with other prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and supplements, it may change how they work or increase the frequency or severity of side effects. Make sure that you tell your healthcare professional about anything that you are taking to avoid any negative drug interactions, including:

• Atropine.
• Some drugs, including fluconazole, itraconazole, ketoconazole, posaconazole, and voriconazole, which are used to treat fungal infections.

The typical dose and dosage form of Vesicare is:

For adults: A 5 to 10 mg tablet taken by mouth once daily is the usual dosage.

The dosage for liquid suspension (for kids ages 2 and up) is determined by your child's weight. The usual dosage is 2 mL to 10 mL taken orally once daily. 1 mg of medicine is present in each milliliter.

For tablets, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the scheduled time. Avoid taking two doses in one day.

When taking the oral suspension, take it as soon as you can, but if you are more than 12 hours late, skip the missed dosage. Avoid taking two doses at once.

Keep this medication at room temperature, away from heat and moisture, in its original container. When not in use, keep the bottle tightly closed.

After 28 days from the date you open the bottle of suspension, discard any leftover liquid. Keep out of reach of children.

There are several lower-cost generic versions available with the active ingredient of solifenacin succinate.

If you're considering quitting your medication, speak with your healthcare provider. Never discontinue taking Vesicare without first consulting your physician.

It is not known if Vesicare is safe to use while pregnant. Talk to your doctor if you are already pregnant or if you have any plans to become pregnant. They will know or recommend what is best for you.

Taking Vesicare for a long time can decrease your milk production. It is also possible for your baby to have side effects from the medication. Talk to your doctor if you are already breastfeeding or if you have any plans to breastfeed. They will know or recommend what is best for you.

Vesicare should not be used when nursing since solifenacin can contaminate breast milk.
