Semaglutide Microdose Injection
Low-dose weekly injection · GLP-1 receptor agonist · Prescription required
Low-dose semaglutide for steady, gradual progress. Semaglutide is a GLP-1 medication that mimics a hormone your body makes after eating, helping curb appetite and slow how quickly your stomach empties. The microdose uses a smaller amount, once a week, for people who want a gentler, more gradual approach or plan to stay on treatment longer term.
4-week plan
One low-dose injection a week, with your dose set by your provider. Same treatment on every plan; longer plans cost less per 4 weeks.

- 4 weeksNo commitment$179$179 total
- 12 weeks$169$507 total
- 24 weeks$159$954 total
- 52 weeks$149$1,937 total
Same treatment on every plan. Longer plans cost less per 4 weeks, and you’re charged for the full term. You choose your plan during intake, once a provider approves treatment.
You'll begin the intake process — a 10-minute questionnaire about your health history, medications, and goals. A licensed U.S. provider reviews your questionnaire and prescribes only if medically appropriate. No charge until you're approved. Your provider may recommend a different treatment based on your health history.
What is semaglutide microdosing used for?
Providers prescribe low-dose semaglutide for weight management in patients who meet the clinical criteria. It mimics a hormone your body already makes after eating, which tells your brain you're full and slows digestion.
It's prescribed alongside changes to diet and activity, not instead of them.
Microdose or standard dose — which should I choose?
Both use the same active ingredient, semaglutide, but they aren't the same treatment. The standard dose follows the usual path of gradual increases and is what most patients start on. The microdose uses a smaller amount and costs less.
A lower dose may mean milder side effects for some people, but it may also mean slower or smaller results. Your provider will recommend the dose that suits your goals and health history.
How do I take it?
You give yourself one small injection at home once a week, on the same day each week. Your provider sets your dose and adjusts it based on how you respond. Always follow your provider's instructions and guidance.

Who qualifies — and who doesn't
Adults 18 and over in eligible U.S. states. Whether the microdose is right for you depends on your BMI, health history, and goals. A prescription isn't guaranteed. Your provider reviews your full history and current medications and decides whether it's right for you.
You may not be eligible if any of these apply to you:
- Pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to become pregnant
- End-stage kidney disease or severe liver disease
- Active or past eating disorder
- Current suicidal thoughts or a prior suicide attempt
- Active cancer treatment
- History of pancreatitis
- Organ transplant on anti-rejection medication
- Severe stomach or bowel conditions, such as gastroparesis or IBD
- Personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2
Your provider will give you a full assessment.
Side effects and safety
Side effects may be milder at a lower dose, but they can still happen. Nausea is the most commonly reported, especially when you start or change your dose. Others include vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain, and tiredness. Your provider can adjust your dose more slowly or prescribe something for nausea if needed.
Contact your provider right away if you have severe stomach pain that doesn't go away, signs of an allergic reaction, or a lump or swelling in your neck. Get emergency care for trouble breathing or swelling of the face or throat.
Some people also notice mild redness or tenderness where they inject. Rotating your injection site can help.
Prescription required. A licensed healthcare provider will review your medical questionnaire and prescribe treatment only if medically appropriate. Individual results vary. Why people choose semaglutide microdosing
Why some people choose a lower dose of semaglutide.

A gentler approach
A smaller weekly dose for people who want steady, gradual progress rather than a faster start.

Feel full for longer
Semaglutide works on the hormone that signals fullness, helping reduce appetite and cravings between meals.

Built for the long term
A lower-cost option for people who plan to stay on treatment longer, with lab testing and clinician check-ins included.
Frequently asked questions
Visits, eligibility, labs, payment, and what happens if you want to stop.
Is this the same as Ozempic or Wegovy?
No. Those are FDA-approved products made by a manufacturer. This is a compounded medication prepared by a licensed pharmacy for your individual prescription. It isn't a generic or an identical product, and compounded medications are not FDA-approved.
What happens after I complete the eligibility quiz?
If you're eligible, you'll choose a video visit or, depending on your state, a prescription review without a video visit. You'll then sign up for your plan and create a password (your username is your email address).
Next, you'll complete your health history form, either right away or later through the portal. At your first appointment, your provider will discuss your goals, review your history, order any labs you need, and prescribe if appropriate. Follow-up visits are typically monthly at the start.
What type of provider will I see?
Licensed physicians and nurse practitioners who can prescribe medication, order labs, review your symptoms, and create a treatment plan for you.
Which plan should I choose?
Every plan includes the same treatment. Longer plans cost less per 4 weeks, from $179 on the 4-week plan down to $149 on the 52-week plan. The 4-week plan is a good fit if you'd like to try it first.
How many injections does each shipment cover?
Each shipment contains 4 weeks of treatment (4 weekly injections). The strength of the dose will come directly from your provider.
Your prescription label and instructions show exactly how much to use for each injection.
Do I have to inject myself?
Yes. It's a small injection you give yourself at home once a week, and your clinician can talk you through your first one.
Do I need lab work before I start?
No. Your provider will order any labs you need at your first visit. These may include a CMP, hemoglobin A1C, TSH, and a lipid panel.
Labs at any Quest Diagnostics location are included at no extra cost. If you've had labs in the last 24 months, you may not need new ones. You can upload them in the portal or email them to [email protected]. If you don't live near a Quest location, your provider can order a general lab requisition.
Can I move between microdose and standard dose?
Yes. Message your care team, and your provider can adjust your treatment at your next refill review.
I'm already on a GLP-1. Can I switch?
Yes. You'll still complete a visit with a licensed provider, who will write a new prescription if it's right for you. Tell them what you take, your dose, and how long you've been on it, and they'll use that to decide where to start you, rather than resetting you to the beginning.
Strengths vary between pharmacies, so your dose may be written differently from what you're used to. Follow the instructions on your new label, and message your clinician if anything is unclear.
Do you offer maintenance therapy?
Yes, for most patients. To qualify, you need a prior diagnosis of obesity or overweight and to have used a GLP-1 medication in the past 12 months. Patients with a BMI under 22 are better treated in person, so they aren't eligible online.
If your BMI drops below 25 during treatment, your provider will reassess whether continuing is right for you. Some patients may qualify for maintenance therapy.
How soon will I notice anything?
Changes on a microdose tend to be more gradual than on a standard dose. Some people notice appetite changes within the first few weeks, but it varies. Your provider will talk you through what to expect at your stage.
Do you accept insurance?
No insurance is needed. Insurance doesn't cover the virtual visits for this program, and you pay one flat price for your plan.
How do I pay?
You pay one flat price for the plan you choose, with no hidden fees, membership costs, or lab charges. Charges may appear on your statement as "OPNLP Universal Drugstore".
You can pause, skip, or delay a shipment from your account at any time before your next order is placed.
Will my information be private?
Yes. The service follows HIPAA-compliant security and privacy standards to keep your personal information safe and confidential.
What if I don't qualify?
If you haven't had your visit yet, you can cancel for a full refund of your current billing cycle. Your provider may suggest an alternative, or explain why treatment isn't appropriate for you right now.
What if I want to stop?
You can cancel anytime:
- Before your visit has happened: full refund for the current billing cycle.
- If new labs or clinical findings mean you're no longer eligible: cancel immediately (no refunds for previous months).
- If the cost of continuing isn't practical: cancel immediately (no refunds for previous months).
