What is Nexletol?
Nexletol is indicated to reduce the risk of heart attacks and coronary revascularization in individuals who are unable to take statin therapy and have cardiovascular disease (CVD), or a high risk for a CVD event but without established CVD. Additionally, Nexletol lowers low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels (LDL-C) in people with high cholesterol levels (primary hyperlipidemia), especially those with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH), a genetic condition affecting how the body removes cholesterol from the blood.

Bempedoic acid in particular is known to be a nonstatin that interrupts the body’s cholesterol-making process by reducing the amount of cholesterol made by your liver and increasing the breakdown of bad cholesterol.
