• Like any topical retinoid, skin irritation and dryness are common. Using a gentle, unscented moisturizer following application can help minimize irritation and keep the skin hydrated. With time, this irritation should improve. However, if it starts to worsen or does not improve with use, you should follow up with your prescriber.
• If you miss an application, use it as soon as you remember in the evening. However, if it is almost time for your next use, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

The most common side effects of Tazorac include:

• General skin irritation, including increased itching and redness, or a burning or stinging sensation
• Skin peeling
• Dry skin

Some individuals may experience serious side effects while using Tazorac. These side effects may require immediate medical attention. If you experience any of the following, contact your healthcare provider or seek emergency medical help:

• Signs of severe irritation or an allergic reaction, such as hives, blistering of the skin, skin discoloration, or any other skin irritation that either worsens or does not improve with continued use
