Wash and dry your hands before testing.

Insert a Contour Next test strip into a compatible blood sugar monitor.

Use a lancing device with a sterile lancet, such as Microlet lancets, to obtain a small blood sample from your finger.

Apply a drop of blood to the edge of the test strip.

The meter will display your blood glucose level within seconds.

If needed, Second-Chance sampling allows you to add more blood to the same strip.

Dispose of used lancets and test strips safely after testing.

Contour Next test strips are intended for single-patient use and should not be shared.

If your reading shows less than 4 mmol/L on the blood sugar monitor, immediately consume 15g of sugar in the form of a cup of juice, a spoonful of honey, or 4 Dex4 glucose tablets. Recheck your sugar level in 15 minutes, and if it is still less than 4 mmol/L, take another 15g of sugar. Eat your next meal at the regular time, unless it is more than 1 hour away, then eat a snack.
