Important information about Striverdi Respimat

How does Striverdi Respimat work?

The active ingredient in Striverdi Respimat is olodaterol. It is a long-acting beta agonist (LABA) that works by relaxing the muscles around the airways in the lungs. This helps open the airways and makes it easier to breathe. As a bronchodilator, it provides long-lasting relief of symptoms such as shortness of breath in people with COPD.

How do you use Striverdi Respimat?

Follow all directions given to you by your doctor and read all documents provided, including the full Prescribing Information, FDA-Approved Product Labeling, Instructions for Use, and Medication Guide before using Striverdi Respimat. However, the following is a synopsis of the general guidelines for the use of Striverdi Respimat:

1. Before first use, remove the clear base of the Respimat inhaler and write the discard by date (3 months from when the cartridge is inserted).

2. Next, insert the narrow end of the cartridge into the inhaler, then press down on a firm surface until it clicks into place. Replace the clear base.

3. Next, prime your inhaler. Turn the clear base in the direction of the arrow until it clicks, then open the yellow cap. While pointing the inhaler towards the ground, press the dose-release button. If you do not see a mist, repeat this step. Once you see a mist, repeat this step three times (to prime three times). Follow these instructions for every new inhaler, and if the inhaler has not been used for more than 3 days.

4. For daily use, follow the TOP acronym: Turn, Open, Press.

5. Turn the clear base in the direction of the arrows until it clicks.

6. Open the cap. Breathe out away from the device, then close your lips around the mouthpiece, taking care not to cover the air vents. Point the inhaler to the back of your throat.

7. Press the dose-release button while taking a slow, deep breath through your mouth. Then hold your breath for 10 seconds, or as long as comfortable.

8. Repeat steps 4-7 for a total of 2 puffs.

9. Close the cap until you use your inhaler again.
