The active ingredient in Atrovent HFA is ipratropium bromide. This medication belongs to a class called anticholinergic bronchodilators. Inhaled ipratropium works to relax the muscles around the airways to make breathing easier.

- Prime the inhaler if it’s new or has not been used in 3 days.
