  • Stroke: weakness on one side of the body, slurred speech, loss of balance, and confusion.
  • Heart failure: shortness of breath, fluid retention, and swelling in the ankles, feet, or legs.
  • Increased risk of high blood pressure (hypertension).

Do not use this medication before or after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery.
  • This medication may increase the risk of serious and perhaps fatal stomach or intestinal disorders such as ulcers or bleeding. The risk is greatest in older people and those who have had gastrointestinal.

Orudis is contraindicated in those for whom ketoprofen, aspirin, or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) cause asthma or allergic symptoms. This medication should also not be used immediately before or after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery.

How long does it take Orudis to work?

The immediate-release capsule begins acting as soon as 30 minutes after taking it. It may take 2 to 3 hours for the extended-release pill to take effect. As a result, if you need pain relief quickly, Orudis' immediate-release capsules are the way to go.

What interacts with Orudis?

When Orudis is taken with other prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and supplements, it may change how they work or increase the frequency or severity of side effects. For osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, the recommended starting dose is 75 mg three times a day or 50 mg four times a day. The highest daily dosage is 300 mg.

For menstrual cramps and mild to moderate pain, the normal dose is 25 mg to 50 mg taken orally every 6 to 8 hours as needed. The highest daily dosage is 300 mg.
