The dosage administered to adults ages 12 years and above depends on the condition being treated and the severity of the symptoms. Ask your healthcare provider if unsure, however, the typical dosages for adults are as follows:
- Motrin IB Adult’s 200mg Ibuprofen Tablets or Liquid Gels
- 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours. Do not exceed 6 tablets in 24 hours.
Motrin IB Adult’s 200mg Ibuprofen and 38mg Sleep Aid
- 2 tablets before bed. Do not exceed 2 tablets in 24 hours.
Motrin Adult’s Topical Gel or Spray
- 4 times per day up to 21 days on no more than 2 areas of your body.
Motrin IB Adult’s 125mg Ibuprofen and 250mg Acetaminophen Dual Action Tylenol Tablet
- 2 tablets every 8 hours. Do not exceed 6 tablets in 24 hours.
Motrin IB Adult’s 200mg Ibuprofen Liquid Gel Capsules specifically for Migraines
- 2 capsules with water. Do not exceed 2 capsules in 24 hours.
How do I store Motrin?
Elements such as heat, moisture, and even light can damage your medications. Motrin should be stored at room temperature (20-25 degrees Celsius/68-77 degrees Fahrenheit), preferably in the kitchen cabinet rather than the bathroom cabinet, as light and humidity can affect the efficacy of Motrin. Once opened, Motrin can remain at room temperature and does not need to be stored in the refrigerator. Keep out of the reach of children.
